When I said earlier this week that I was going to have a weigh in post on Thursday, I didn’t realize it was the beginning on the new month.  But I guess it come of works out, eh?

Anywho, this morning I weighed in at 295.2 lbs, which means I have a BMI of 43.  That definitely sucks, but I’m not 300, so I’ll take it.

And I’m going to make it work this month.  I’ve been approved to work 125 hours of overtime, and I intend to work every last minute of it, but I plan to squeeze in as many workouts as I can (at least shooting for 3-4 a week).

The diet is something that I can manage regardless of how many hours I work, I just have to work on my willpower.  I’ve been doing A LOT better about not eating out as much or ordering takeout, which was a huge issue for a long time.  But now I need to work on making the stuff I buy from the grocery store last.

We’ll see how it goes, and hopefully I’ll be able to report some success for this month.

WooT!

Aug 272011

To say I have been struggling with my weight loss lately would not be a completely accurate statement…

…mostly because, in all honesty, I wasn’t really trying.

I didn’t throw in the towel, not by any means, but I wasn’t doing much in terms of trying to eat right, work out, etc…etc…etc… I’ve allowed work to basically consume ALL OF MY TIME, in the hopes of building up my savings in preparation for my move.

Unfortunately, this lack of effort paid off, and for the first time EVER, I managed to hit the 300lb mark.

BOO!

I’ve since flipped the switch back on, at least diet wise, and am back in the 200s (294 as of this morning).  But…I need to make more of an effort to strike up a balance between work and life.  I don’t mind sacrificing parts of my personal life, because it’s short term and I have a goal in mind, but I can’t sacrifice my health.  Besides, starting a new life in Pittsburgh isn’t going to do a whole hell of a lot of good if I’m not comfortable with myself.

So, while I still need to keep work on the frontburner for right now, I want to move my weight loss journey off of the backburner.

Mid-burner, perhaps? Is that a thing?

I will do a weigh in post on Thursday (it’s been awhile, right?). We’ll see how it goes. :)

Have a great weekend, and stay safe.  To my fellow East Coasters, don’t get hurricaned away! :)

Hiyas!

I know I’ve been kind of neglecting the blog lately, and I apologize for that, but I’m here now, so it’s all good, right?! #holyrunonsentencebatman

But, ya know, I wanted to report in, because something kind of cool is happening.

I’m actually having a REALLY GOOD week.

I’ve talked about my struggles with my weight loss, and my stressors with work and school. It’s strange though, because all of that stuff is still there, but I’m feelin’ good!

WORK- Going well, and I’ve been feeling pretty motivated to keep up with my overtime too!  So much so, in fact, that I will probably end up working about 80 hours this week.  For some most people, this is very bad thing, but for me, it’s not.  You see, I like to work.  It’s always been the one thing I’ve been REALLY REALLY good at, and I am okay with that.  I even got called out at a meeting for being “exemplary” this week, which was awesome, especially since the full time teleworkers tend to be the red headed stepchildren of my company.  Not to mention the fact that 80 hours of work this week means 40 hours at time and half pay, which is schweet!

DIET- This past Sunday I went back to counting my Weight Watchers Points, and so far it’s been going great.  I’m getting back to me much more conscientious about what I am eating, and I’m not depriving myself.  I’ve had candy this week, and I had pizza for dinner last night, but I fit it into my point allotment and I’m still losing weight (about 4 pounds down from my weight on Monday so far).  Now granted, I still have a pretty ASTRONOMICAL amount of Points right now, but it’s working! :)

EXCERCISE- Basically, I’m doing it :) .  I’m not hitting the gym 2 hours a day or anything, but I’m going on walks, and utilizing the new trails they’ve started putting up in my area.  I was even able to get up at 5:30 this morning for a walk, which isn’t something I’ve been able to do for a long time.  I’ve also hit the elliptical a couple times, for about 20 minute intervals.

SCHOOL- I still have time left, as my new semester started this month and runs to the end of the month, but I am working.  I worked a little bit on a Marketing project over the weekend, and I’m trying to get a little bit of study time in for a test I have on 8/8.  I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I will get it done.

DEBT- Remember when I was blogging about my debt?  Well, that went a whole lot of nowhere post wise, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t working on it.  In fact, I was recently about to pay off a huge debtor, which means that I’ve been able to knock about $9000 worth of debt, to about $250…and even that will be gone soon.  What does that mean?  I’m going to be able to start focusing on SAVING soon, and may eventually not have to live paycheck to paycheck anymore.  How cool is THAT?! :D

AWESOME BY AUGUST- We’ve had an awesome turnout for this challenge, which in of itself has been pretty motivating.  Kerri, Brooke and I also hosted our first Twitter chat this past week, which I think turned out great, even if things got a little silly at the end. :)

CHANGES- I don’t want to get into too much detail about it yet, but I’m contemplating some major changes in my life.  The idea of it all is scary, yet exciting, and I’m hoping everything plays out like I’d like.  So stay tuned, for updates will be coming. :)

And that’s all I got for now, but it’s quite a bit, eh?  Now I need to piece of wood to knock on so I don’t jinx myself, and then I need to get back to work!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
