nuclear explosion

I think the picture says it all. :)

I had a bad week.  I didn’t track my points all that well, I didn’t workout, I ate out way too often, I didn’t watch what I ate, blah blah blah…

So I gained.  And it was a fairly big gain too.  Sure, some of it may be water, sodium, yadda yadda yadda, but in the end, it’s a gain.

I’d generally wimp out and not post at all, and maybe avoid the blog for a bit.  But this time I’m going to take the half-wimp approach.

I’ll post, but I won’t admit to the numbers on here.

Obviously goal #1 is to get back to tracking EVERYTHING.  Goal #2 is to get some workouts in.  With the exception of this week, that’s where I’ve been struggling alot.

I’ve still got this.

Starting Weight:  292.4 lbs
Previous Weight:   281.2 lbs
Current Weight:  282.0 lbs (+0.8 lbs)
Total lost: 10.4 lbs
BMI:  41.0

So this week didn’t exactly turn out as planned, eh?

It could have been a lot worse though.  I ate out quite a few times this past week, and allowed myself some other indulgences.  I tried to offset it with some more activity points, but in the end I still posted a gain.

The Meeting Leader pointed out that 10.4 pounds in 3 weeks is still really good, and it is.  I’m not discouraged at all, but I am still bummed a bit.

Regardless though, there is progress being made.  I am tracking EVERYTHING, even the overages.  I have also worked out 6 out of the last 7 days, and 3 of those days have included strength training.

So I will be out the 280s next week.  I may not hit the 5% mark like I wanted, but I will at least be in the 270s. :)

Yo

Mar 062011

Yeah, yeah…I know I promised weekly updates beginning in February and all that…blah blah blah.

I haven’t wanted to deal with it.  I’ve been going nowhere fast so far this year, and I’ve been hiding from it.  I try to get a little resolve, and I’m good for…maybe a day…before the old habits come back and kick me in the ass.

So…it’s been made pretty clear that I’m having trouble doing this on my own…and I’m not utilizing the blog the way I should be, so I’ve decided to try a different approach.

This Thursday will be my first Weight Watchers meeting.  I signed up for the monthly pass, which isn’t as bad as I thought it would be price wise.  I’m also opting to weigh in at the meetings, instead of online, as there is more motivation is having to weigh in in front of other people :P

So I’ll be postings my weigh ins on Thursday now, instead of Tuesdays (mostly because the closest meeting place only has them on Thursdays).  I also need to re-resolve to back get into regular workouts, even if it is just 30 minutes on the elliptical machine a few days a week.

I want this to work.  I’ve never had an experience with the Points system, so I’m not worried about the “new” system.  The only thing that seems weird is that I think I have an OUTRAGEOUS amount of points (61?!, where most people say they get around 30!), but I’m guessing that’s because I’m starting out so big?  I dunno…I’ll ask about it on Thursday.

So…there we go.  New year (and a few months), and hopefully a new beginning.
