I just bought new stuffs!

Omron HBF-306C Fat Loss Monitor, Black

An Omron HBF-306C Fat Loss Monitor

Accu-Measure Fitness 3000 Personal Body Fat Tester

…and the Accu-Measure Fitness 3000 Personal Body Fat Tester.

Both basically do the same thing, and that is to measure your body fat.  The main thing I wanted was the Omron monitor, but the calipers were only an extra $5, so I figured why not.

I’ve been wanting to get something to measure my body fat for some time.  I know weight alone isn’t always the best indicator for getting healthier, and I’d like to be able to note any gains in muscle.  Plus, way back when, I made a New Years Resolution to achieve 15% body fat.  My progress may have derailed (and exploded) by then, so that Resolution may not happen this year, but it is still an ultimate goal.

Once I get them (I placed the order about 10 minutes ago, and got the Super Saver shipping) hopefully I’ll be able to incorporate this reading into my weekly status reports.

Do you measure you body fat?  If so, do you use calibers or a digital reader or something else?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

As far as resources go for this weight loss challenge, I feel pretty lucky in regards to places to work out.  Not only do I live in a nice area that I can walk around in (which even includes a trail) but i have 3 gyms at my disposal.

And that right there is one of them!

My employer has two offices within 2 miles of my house, both of which have a fitness center that I have unlimited access to for 10 bucks a month.  My apartment complex also has a dinky little workout room, so if I don’t feel like going to far I can always go there.

I’ve been going to the office gym though, even when I’m at home.  I think its alot nicer, has alot more available to me, and it has the ARC Trainers, which are growing on me, and walking there is always a nice warmup (even though I do drive there more than I should).

As far as workouts go, today has been a good day thus far.  I burned 2067 calories (per the machine).  I was going to stop at 1500, because my legs were burning and I wanted to go home, but I perservered, a) because I felt guilty about not working out yesterday due to my hangover, and b)t hat extra 567 calories could be a meal, so it’s one less thing on my diet that I have to worry about!  Sadly, I wanted to take a picture of this, but the machine reset itself before I could get the camera phone set up :(   Next time I won’t wait until after the timer runs out, so I have more of a window.

Going to DC in a bit, so I’m sure there will be plenty of walking down there.  Hope everyone’s had a good weekend!
