I ran today.

I started using the Couch to 5k, err, I mean the Ease to 5K (dunno why the hell they changed the name, but whatever).  I did it once before, but didn’t really stick with it past the first week.  I may not do it all the way through this time, who knows, I just want something to help me get started with being a runner again.

I miss it.

We became friends through Twitter, he has Guest Posted for me, and now I can say with almost-near certainty that he is an actual human being.

It’s David!  Sup?

He is in town for the Baltimore Marathon, so everyone take a minute to stop over to his blog, or tweet him, and wish him luck!

I’ll admit that while he was one of the bloggers I’ve been really wanting to meet, I was a bit nervous about the whole thing.  We’re both health/fitness/running bloggers, and, well, I haven’t exactly been doing a whole lot of the health/fitness/running thing lately.  With that said, he and his wife are both amazing people, and I was glad to finally do the “in real life” thang and meet both of them.

He’s also one of the people who would seriously kick my ass if I don’t get my shit together, so hopefully by the next time we meet, we’ll maybe be able to go for a run. WooT!

…kinda.

Basically I went for a 1.1 mile walk during my lunch break, and I ran/jogged/slogged/whatever for maaaaaybe a fifth of that.

Hey, it’s a start, right? Or a re-start. Bah!

And while it was really hard (wah!), I’m super slow (double wah!) and my calved ache (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!), I’m glad that I did it.  I have a shit ton of ground to make up for.
