So yeah, this is turning out to be an awesome week!

Not only did I bust out of the 240s with my weigh in yesterday, but I downloaded the newest (and long awaited) album from the lostprophets. The album is called The Betrayed, and its the follow up to their 2006 album Liberation Transmission.

If you don’t know who the lostprophets are, shame on you, they are only like the best.band.ever!

Seriously, they rock!

Okay, moving on…if you are anything like me (which in most cases, you’ll hope you aren’t, but work with me here), music is almost essential to ensuring you have a good workout.

Think about it, it revs you up, it gives you focus, it distracts from the timer on the machine, etc..etc..etc..

Alot of people have a specific playlist, or playlists, for when they workout. I don’t per se, what I usually end up doing is pulling up a specific album on my iPod, and playing it the whole way through, whether I like the whole thing or not. I do this because I really suck at making playlists, and my iPod library is spread between my laptop and desktop so its kind of pain in the butt (so, in short, I’m lazy and don’t feel like it).

Regardless though, there are songs in those albums that stand out to me, and I will either repeat those songs, or seek out just those songs. Here is a sampling of those songs:

Falling Down, by Atreyu

Slow Burn, by Atreyu

Bat County, by Avenged Sevenfold

The Diary of Jane, by Breaking Benjamin

Tell Me, by Dropping Daylight

Handlebars, by Flobots

The River, by Good Charlotte (featuring M. Shadows and Synyster Gates)

This Love, This Hate, by Hollywood Undead

Paradise Lost, by Hollywood Undead

Nothing Special, by Illscarlet

Don’t Stop, by innerpartysystem

Bad Romance, by Lady Gaga

Paparazzi, by Lady Gaga

Points of Authority, by Linkin Park

In the End, by Linkin Park

A Town Called Hypocrisy, by lostprophets

4:AM Forever, by lostprophets

Last Train Home, by lostprophets

Shake Tramp, by Mariana’s Trench

Celebrity Status, by Mariana’s Trench

All The Right Moves, by OneRepublic

Everybody Loves Me, by One Republic

One Man Army, by Our Lady Peace

Funhouse, by Pink

Prayer for the Refugee, by Rise Against

Injection, by Rise Against

Savior, by Rise Against

Take My Hand, by Simple Plan

Still Waiting, by Sum 41

The Hell Song, by Sum 41

Tomorrow In The Bottle, by Timbaland (featuring Chad Kroeger & Sebastian)

Long Way Down, by Timbaland (featuring Daughtry)

Contagious, by Trapt

Stand Up, by Trapt

Candle (Sick and Tired), by The White Tie Affair

Okay, so for all practical purposes that list could be a playlist in of itself, but I don’t limit myself to those songs. That list also provides a pretty decent sampling of my overall taste in music, but I really listen to just about anything (except country).

Also, of that list, I want to call out one specific song, and that is Paradise Lost, by Hollywood Undead. I don’t know what it is, but when my motivation is waning, or if I want to push myself to do just a little bit more, I will play that song and my mindset will result itself. I’ve added miles to my walks, minutes to my eliptical/ARC Trainer workouts, speed to my runs, all because of that song.

So what about you? What is your workout playlist? Do you have one song that revs you up and gets you going when your mindset starts to wane? I’d love to know what gets everyone going, so that I can steal draw inspiration from your song list to add to my own.
