I have a confession to make…

Until recently, with the exception of when I had my wisdom teeth removed, I hadn’t been to the dentist in years.  And when I say years, I mean like A LOT of years.  Yeah I brush my teeth and all that, and occasionally dabble in flossing (boo!) , but I never had a cleaning, had fillings, or any of that stuff.

I resolved to get on track with that stuff, several times, and a couple months ago I finally went in.  They survived the situation, and set me up with a plan of action.  I definitely had some gingivitis going on, and a few small cavities going on, so I wanted to get all of that taken care of.

I had to cancel the first two appointments b/c I wouldn’t have been able to get off work in time to walk to the office.  I worked it out today though, and went in today for something called a root planing and scaling.  It’s basically an intense cleaning, where they go under the gum and clean your teeth down to the roots, using the little scrapey thingies, and some little ultra-sonic thingy (proper terminology FTW!).

It doesn’t really hurt, because they numb the area up to high heaven, and apparently that anesthesia lasts awhile, because it’s been almost 4 hours and I’m not feeling much of anything on that side of my mouth.  It was especially fun when I got home, and tried to rinse with salt water as recommended, and had it all run out of my mouth and down my shirt…Yay!

One cool thing though? My teeth are alot whiter than I really thought possible.  The hygenist managed to get a lot of crap off (please don’t think my teeth were like super disgusting or anything, they were just stained from many things, including drinking coffee and from when I used to smoke).

So yeah, that’s been my day.  I go back in couple weeks for root planing on the right side, and then get fillings, sealants, and maybe whitening (if I can afford it).

Fun times all around!

ZOMBIES!

I dreamt last night that I was in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, but I guess that can be expected when you finish a zombie book right before bed.

In short, nice book, not as good as the first book, and ending was a bit out there (if you can believe that in zombie fiction).

BIGGEST LOSER!

Did anyone catch last nights Biggest Loser?  I watched it, but didn’t tweet it because I had a headache and didn’t really feel like sitting in front of the computer any longer.  I gotta say though, I do think I’m experiencing of Biggest Loser burnout.  I watched it, sure, but was I excited that it was back on? No, not really.  Especially after I saw that they are going to continue to hide the identities of the new trainers, which is a really stupid idea.  Hopefully seperating the cast members for a month will help do away with some of the gameplay, but we’ll see how it goes.

V!

I was much more excited about V.  I was dissapointed with some aspects of the Season Premier (the whole Red Sky thing was rather anticlimatic, I was hoping to see the invasion start to take place), but overall I’m still excited about this season.  Again, we’ll see how it goes. :)

In other news…

I’m housesitting for my friend Michelle this weekend, which will be a nice change to pace.  I get to play with a puppy and watch a REALLY BIG tv!  She has a new elliptical machine too, so WooT for that.

I got a loan approval for a car, I would just need to get the down payment in order and I’ll be good to go.  The interest rate SUCKS, but so does my credit.  I’m still hoping to find something nice and reliable that I can pay cash for, but at least now I have a back up plan.

And I think that’s it…for now. :)

I did pretty bad over the holidays, but at least I wasn’t THIS bad…

AP
Feel guilty about how much you ate over the holidays? Donna Simpson doesn’t. And trust us — she put you to shame.

Simpson, a New Jersey woman, scarfed down a 30,000 calorie Christmas dinner, one that consisted of (among other things) two hams, two turkeys, a 10-pound roast and five loaves of bread. Merry Christmas, indeed!

I remember hearing about this woman a few months back. She is trying to get to 1000 pounds and has a website where people can pay to watch her eat.  I was kind of hoping that once her 15 minutes of fame ended though, it would stop.  Apparently not.

So yeah…wtf?
