I’ve been kind of blown away by all of the action going on with Awesome By August!

It’s back!

It’s that time again for Awesome by August, the weight loss challenge hosted by Kerri, Brooke and I!  WooHoo!

For those of you who missed the fun last year, Awesome by August is a weight loss challenge that runs through the month of July and encourages healthy weight loss, as well as other healthy living goals.

For those who did participate last year, there are going to be a few changes this time around, the major one being that the challenge will be done mostly on Facebook this time around.  That is where we will be doing the weekly weigh ins, and where others will be other post about their successes, struggles, etc… We will still be using on #awesomebyaugust hashtag on twitter though, and I will still be blogging about it as well.  :)

Here are the official rules!

  • Sign up is from today until Tuesday July 12th at 10pm EST.  You can sign up by liking the Awesome by August Facebook Page!
  • The challenge runs from July 11th, 2011 to August 8th, 2011.  That’s four weeks of awesomeness.
  • A status update asking for weigh ins will be posted weekly, and you can respond with your weight in the comments.  You have until 10pm EST on July 12thfor the inital weigh in, after that ALL other weigh ins must be posted by each Monday at midnight EST.
  • Everyone who participates in each weekly weigh in will be entered in the drawing for a prize (winners will be randomly selected).  Those who participate in ALL weigh ins are eligible for a second prize, which will also be randomly selected.
  • Pariticpants will also be encouraged to have non weight related goals as well, and to post them on the facebook page.  Whether it be run a 5k, bench 200lbs, whatever you’d like :)
  • Have fun!

We ran, we walked, we biked, we swam…

We sweated, we chafed, we cursed, we soldiered on…

Marathon Week has come to an end.

The premise was simple…26.2 miles over the course of the week. Some did more, and some did less…but nearly everyone who participated pushed themselves harder than they have in a long time. And that was really what it was all about.

For me, I completed Marathon Week with 30.19 miles in. I biked 5.7 of those miles, walked 24.40 miles, and ran about .9 miles. There wasn’t nearly as much running as I would have liked, but I will not discount any of what I did this week, because I rocked it! :)

And I want to know how you did!

I’d love to compose a post listing everyone who participated, and what their total mileage was. You can comment here, tweet me, Facebook me, email me, etc…etc…

I also want to thank everyone who participated. You made this challenge a success, and you all motivated me to carry on!

And CONGRATULATIONS! We did it!
