The following post consists of a Product Review, a Sweet Ass Contest, and a Giveaway. Neat, right?!

I was recently sent samples of the Promax LS line of energy bars from Promax Nutrition. I’ve tried them out, and am now reviewing them for you!

Now that that is out of the way, let’s begin!
PROMAX LS (Low Sugar) Energy Bars Review

Promax LS Chocolate Fudge Bar
Here is a quick description from the Promax website:
“Promax packs its lower sugar energy bars with 18 grams of replenishing protein, all natural ingredients, 14 grams of fiber, and great tasting flavors. Promax LS contains 40% less sugar than leading regular energy bars. That’s 9 grams sugar versus 15-21 grams in leading regular energy bars. Promax LS is also the first leading protein bar naturally sweetened with stevia, a plant with leaves that are up to 45 times sweeter than sugar and zero calories.”
I was sent both flavors to try, the Chocolate Fudge and Peanut Butter Chocolate. To be honest, I kind of wish I was sent the Promax Core flavors to review, because there are more to choose from and they all sound delicious…but I do love chocolate, and I love peanut butter, so this works as well.
My first impression when I recieved the bars was the attractive packaging, and the size! I was quickly dissapointed however, when I saw that the bars are considerably smaller than the packaging would have you believe. :/

- Empty space in the folded part.
Nutritionally speaking, they LS lines seems like a really good deal. It has about the same amount of calories (or fewer) then I’ve seen in other protein bars, while still packing in a decent amount of protein. I was really impressed by the amount of fiber in the bars though, with both varieties packing 14g (56% DV).
Check out the full nutrition facts for the Peanut Butter Chocolate and Chocolate Fudge.
Flavor wise, they tasted good, but I wasn’t really overwhelmed by any sort of flavor awesomeness.

- Peanut Butter Chocolate
The Peanut Butter Chocolate bar DID have a very awesome peanut buttery smell when I first opened the package, and biting into it I definitely tasted the peanut butter, but the chocolate taste was a bit lacking. With the Chocolate Fudge one, the chocolate tasted a bit artificial, but that has been my experience with basically EVERY protein bar I’ve ever had. They both also had that distinct “protein bar” taste too, which I guess is from the soy protein.
All in all, you aren’t going to confuse these with candy bars, but as far as protein bars are concerned, they aren’t a bad way to go. They aren’t super high in calories, they taste good and have enough protein and fiber to keep you full for a good while.
