It’s been a long time since I’ve had a workout challenge in this neck of the woods, and I don’t know about you, but I think we are long overdue for one!

So with that said, I’ve decided to bring back a challenge from way in the early days of this blog, and will be hosting a new Marathon Week challenge next week!

He's excited on the inside.

The premise behind this challenge is pretty simple:  To complete 26.2 miles (the length of a marathon) over the course of 7 days.

For some this may be a little daunting, and the whole point is that it is a CHALLENGE, but if you break it down it’s really not so bad.  You could do 3.74 (and some change) miles a day for 7 days, or 5.24 miles a day for 5 days, two half marathons (13.1 miles) or an actual marathon (which would be awesome).

Generally speaking, this would be done by way of running or walking (I’ll be doing a bit of both), but if you want to skip, bike, do it on the elliptical, swim (God help you…), or whatever, then be my guest.  Just get your ass out there and get moving! :)

I had originally had this challenge back in November 2009, and had alot of fun with it.  And I don’t consider this to be as crazy psychotic as some of my other challenges have been, so for me at least, this will be a nice way to get back into the swing of things.

Don’t think there won’t be anymore crazy psychotic challenges though in the future, because I had fun with them too!

Anywho, the challenge will officially begin on at 12am on Monday, June 6th and will end at 11:59pm on Sunday, June 12th.   If you’re interested, let me know in the comments!  I will be posting challenge updates throughout next week and you can keep me updated in the comments, on your own blog (drop me the link though!), on twitter using the #MarathonWeek hashtag, or on my Facebook Page!

And this should go without saying, but…challenge yourself, but don’t KILL yourself.  Be safe while working out and get clearance by your doctor before starting a new workout program, including this workout challenge.  I claim no responsibility for any injuries you might sustain.

Now that that’s out of the way.  I really excited about this, and I hope you’ll join in the fun.

WooT! :)

What’s up, ya’ll?

I’m happy to say that first week of re-energized awesome has been quite successful so far, and we enter into my first weekend of awesomeness.

What’s on the agenda?

The big thing is a party at my Mom’s house on Saturday. This will be the first major party of the year, and these are usually marked by alot of people, and a TON of food and booze.

Yeah, buddy!

This will also be the first people since my parent’s got the hot tub, which has been installed right next to the pool. Should be fun times!

Anywho, my goal for the weekend is to enjoy myself, but not go overboard. I drank enough last weekend to last a few months, so I don’t need to go crazy this weekend. Food wise, I’ll eat, but I won’t pig out. If there is anything extra that I want I’ll pack some up and eat it later in the week.
There are currently no plans for Sunday or Monday, but I really need to get some schoolwork done. I have about a month left in my semester, and two more assignments to do, so I need to get cracking. I also have a huge ass work report that is due by June 1st, so it’d probably be a good idea to try to knock that out. :P
Workout wise, I’ll be doing my lunchtime workout on Friday, and if I have enough time on Saturday before the party I’ll try to knock out a run. Although honestly, my Mom’s offspring are usually the errand bitches at these things, so that’ll be a workout in of itself :P I want to try to get some larger workouts in on Sunday and Monday, since I’ll have a bit more time. :)
And that’s all I got. What’re your plans for the weekend?

Starting Weight:  292.4 lbs
Previous Weight:   281.6 lbs
Current Weight:  277.8 lbs
Total lost: 14.6 lbs
BMI:
40.4

I didn’t post last weeks weigh in, because I didn’t have a chance to while I was getting prepared to take off work on Friday and head down to Fitbloggin.  But as you can see, it wasn’t pretty.  This week worked out a little better though.

Between burnout, birthdays (turned 27 on May 14th), and Fitbloggin stuff, it’s been a bit of a roller coaster though.

This graph is courtesy of the Weight Watchers iPhone App.

I’m glad to say that I’m back on the right track though.  I’ve been kind of reinvigorated by everyone at Fitbloggin, and this past week I have been eating better, and I’ve been working out.  Monday and Wednesday were 30 minutes on the elliptical and some strength training, while Tuesday was a run/walk at lunch.  I plan to use my lunch breaks to workout again, like I did back in the day while at the office.  My Supervisor is being awesome about it, so there we go!

I’m also getting back into better Weight Watchers PointsPlus counting.  I had started to get lazy about it, which resulted into some pretty significant gains.

But anyway, I’m back at it. It may be for the 50th time, but this time its different, because this time I’m running on awesome. (ed note-wow, that was cheesy!)

Here’s to a great week, everyone!

PS-One more thing!!!  I’m trying the whole Facebook thing again!  Please Like my page? :)
