Throughout this entire journey, I’ve had access to three different places where I could work out.  They weren’t so much gyms though, as they were small fitness centers, which a few weight machines, a few cardio machines, etc…etc…etc…

It’s been great, and I’ve utilized them quite a bit, but for a while I’ve wanted a bit more.

So I joined a gym! :D

I recently signed up for a membership at Brick Bodies, which is a Baltimore area chain, and I have to say so far it’s been pretty awesome.

  • Each cardio machine has it’s own TV
  • It has an indoor pool, and kids are only allowed at certain times. WooT!
  • It has free weights
  • It has a boxing room
  • It has free group classes, including all the Body____ classes and Spinning.
  • It has my precious ARC Trainers :)
  • Etc…etc…etc…

The only downside is that it’s not open 24 hours, but honestly, it’s been a lllooonnnggg time since I’ve wanted to work out before between 11pm and 5am, so I don’t think this will be a major hindrance.  It also costs a bit more than I’ve had to pay in a while, even with a corporate discount through work, but I’ve spent more money on fast food and pizza these past few months, so I think this is a valid substitute.

Here is a nifty little layout for you, if at all interested:

While you don’t need to have access to a fancy gym in order to have a really good workout program, I think it helps, and I’ve noticed that seeing other people working their asses off has helped with my motivation (which is surprising, because before I’d always be embarrassed to work out in front of others).  Hopefully this well help with my goals for the long haul…especially since I have a yearlong contract :P

Where do you workout?

Have a great day, everyone!

Progress Report: September 21th, 2010
Weight: 262.5lbs
Body Fat Percentage:  34.9%
BMI: 38.2
Weight loss since last week: -0.9 lbs

It’s not much, but I’ll take it. :)

Need to get some work done, so this is going to be a brief post.  Basically I wanted to check in and say that I’m alive, and that I’m still around :P

I need to workout more this week.  I worked 25.5 hours of overtime last week, and I got some schoolwork done, but exercising kind of fell to the wayside.  I need to work on that, otherwise I’m going to start inflating again. :/

Diet was meh, again.  No calorie counting this past week, but I did try to keep the portions in check, to an extent.

More later.

Oh, and Biggest Loser tonight! WooT! :D

Have a great week!

Last night I went to Philadelphia for a Lady Gaga (don’t judge me) concert, and I had a blast.  I wish I had some decent pictures to show you, but all of mine suck.

Today, I am exhausted.

I didn’t get to bed until about 2am, and still had to be up at 6:30am for work.  My roommate took a half day off, and is still sleeping, so yeah, f*ck him! :P

Food choices weren’t that great yesterday, but I’ll make up for that today.

One of the coolest things though, besides the concert, was I got to see her!

The Birthday Girl ;)

We had just gotten into Philly when we ended up behind an SUV with lettering on the back window that said “Go Sarah! D.C to N.Y.C. – Cycling 300 miles.”  As a weight loss/health and wellness/bla bla bla blogger, I thought it was awesome that I was actually seeing a workout challenge like this play out…LIVE!

And I thought it was even more awesome when I saw Roni blogging about her today.  I feel like I am connected, even if I didn’t actually get to meet her!

I did give her a thumbs up as we passed her though, but I don’t think she saw. :(

Anywho, she is calling the event the Celebration Ride, and it is to raise awareness for Childhood Obesity.  You can root her on either on her blog or her Twitter.

Alright my Little Monters (Gaga reference, again, don’t judge me!), hope you have a great day!
