So Tuesdays are generally Status Report days, but for the next couple weeks they are on hold.

I wish I could say something insightful like I’m not weighing myself because I don’t want to be controlled by a number.  While that is true to an extent, it’s really only because I’m housesitting for my aunt for the next couple weeks, so I am without scale access.  Insightfulness FAIL :-P

I still plan on losing weight though!  This isn’t an excuse to go all crazy with the food again.  So the next scale reading will be on the 22nd, so we’ll see how that goes.

I have my fitness goals though, but unfortunately I didn’t too well with them last week.

  • Run/walk (but mostly run) 20 miles this week.  FAIL! Only 10.7 miles completed.
  • Bike 30 miles. FAIL! 15.21 miles completed.
  • At least three strength training workouts. FAIL! None whatsoever.
  •

I don’t want to say it was all laziness, because I was actually kind of busy this past week.  I’ve been trying to get overtime in for my trip coming up, and I have schoolwork.  So while that kept me busy somewhat, there was still some laziness involved.  Boo!

It’s going to be more of the same work and school stuff this week, but I still want to push for some fitness goals.

    • Run/walk 20 miles. There are alot of suburban neighborhoods in this area, which I think would be good to run in.
    • Three strength training workouts. My aunt and uncle have a weight set, which means I have no excuse :-P

So there’s that.  Gotta let the dogs out now :-P

Have a great day, everyone! :)

    I’ve always loved swimming.

I’m not the best swimmer, and I really didn’t even learn how to swim until I was 15, but I still love it.  Still though, I have a love/hate relationship with the pool.

My parents have a pool, and when I lived at home I would swim constantly, except for when people were over, or when my parents had one of their huge summer parties.  When I was a member of the Y, I never used the indoor pool, despite the fact that I would have loved to be able to swim in the autumn and winter.  My old apartment had a pool, but if my landlady was home or if someone was working on the yard (it was a basement apartment), then I wouldn’t go anywhere near it.  This apartment has a pool, but all last summer I never used it.

Why?  Well, I think it’s the same reason alot of people don’t like the pool, or beach, or whatever:  I didn’t want to be seen without my shirt in.  My flabby stretchmarked gut, my moobs, my pale skin, I thought all of that was best left under the shirt.  I didn’t want to be seen, I didn’t want to be looked at, I didn’t want to be made fun of, etc…etc…

With that said, the apartment pool has opened for the summer, and yesterday, I went swimming! :)

And yes, I took my shirt off.

That isn’t saying that the gut, moobs and paleness aren’t there anymore, and it’s not to say that I’m proud of my appearance right now, but I am learning that I need to worry less about what people might think and do what I want to do.  I’m also realizing that more often than not, those people are probably more concerned about how THEY look then about how they look.

So yeah, I have alot of work to do, but I think I can now add swimming to my workout routine, and be okay with it.  Plus, I like the smell of chlorine, is that weird? :-P

I may be getting back on track, but I still have a mad case of blogging writers block…

With that said, I present to you, FILLER PICTURES!

The official pictures from the Maryland Half Marathon.  Honestly, I don’t really like any of them, but I also have major issues with my appearance and suffer from excruciatinly low self esteem, so theres that.

Still though, you saw me shirtless, so this isn’t much worse :-P   I was thinking about actually ordering one of them (almost $13 for a 5×7, what the hell?!), and maybe framing it with my medal and race number, but I’m not sure.  Anyone have any ideas?

Post race, with my mylar blanket, medal, water bottle, and an awesomely delicious cinnamon crunch bagel (which I hid under the blanket) :-P

    Look happy, eh?

I like this one the best, honestly.  And I was going back and forth on the route with that kid for awhile.  He finished in 2:48, which is pretty awesome.

    Focused, or something…

    I look tired…and old.  Gross.

And…that’s it.  There are a couple photos on my roommates camera that I haven’t seen yet, but this is the jist of it.   I plan to be leaner (and maybe learn how to smile more :P ) once the full marathon comes around.

    Have a great day, ya’ll! :)
