Jun 142010

First off, I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Secondly, so as you can tell from my last post I had a bit of weak moment (not the first one, unfortunately)…and I broke down and bought some diet pills.

I haven’t taken them…

…and I am NOT going to take them.

I was hesitant to buy them in the first place, but I was trying to tell myself that it would only be temporary, and that it would only help jumpstart the diet and weightloss.

That was a crock of shit though.  It was shortcut, a “cheat”, there really isn’t any other way around that.  I know I don’t need that, and I know that I am better than that.  So we’ll going to keep going, and do this the right way :)

I want to thank you all for the encouragement, support, and the much needed ass kicking, whether it be in the comments, the email, on twitter, or in a few cases via text message.  I often wonder why you guys stick around and support me, especially since I haven’t really gotten anywhere in the past couple months, but it’s awesome that you have in fact stuck around, so thank you :)

In the meantime, the Hydroxycut sits on the table, still in the WalMart bag.    I’ll post a picture of the return receipt once I get back to the store :-P

  1. It took a lot for you to post that you bought them. There’s a lot that I think that post meant, mentally, for you, but I won’t get into that. Post that photo of the receipt along with the healthy items you buy from the money you’ll get back. I’m sure you spent about $20 or more on the pills … that’s at least 5 apples, a watermelon, a bag of grapes and a head of lettuce. ;)

  2. Way to go Steve. Like David said, it took a lot just to fess up to the fact that you had bought the stuff in the first place. You could have easily just gone along without telling us and we would have never been the wiser. So kudos to fessing up, and kudos for “seeing the light”. You don’t need that crap, you CAN DO THIS all on your own. You may have hit a tough stretch in the road, but that doesn’t mean your out of this game yet.

  3. I am proud of you for admitting your weakness, I think we all have weak moments (ummm hello, emotional eating!?!?!)

We are all hear for the same reason, because we all want to lead healthy lifestyles and we want to reclaim our lives as our own, and try to undo what we’ve done in the past.

Every now and again we need a pick me up. That is why we are all here, to help one another out with the struggles and low points.

Look at your bio…. ” am working my way down from 265 lbs and to a healthier weight and a happier life. It’s been a wild ride, and I hope you’ll join me!” you’ve already invitied us to join in and those wild rides do have ups and downs.

Have I mentioned that I HATE rollarcoasters!?

Keep at it and fight the good (clean) fight. It will only make you appreciate it more in the long run!

  4. Steve you are so awesome and don’t forget that ever. You asked why we all stick around to support you and for me it’s purely selfish. Your openness and honesty inspire me to be that way with myself and my readers. Don’t give up on yourself because I’m not giving up on you!

  5. I gotta say I was worried when I saw the title! I am proud of you for admitting the weakness and then now NOT taking them, but returning them.It seems you and I are in the same boat…going nowhere fast.

email me if you want to team up and see if we can motivate each other.

Oh and there is something on my blog for you….

  6. I’m so proud of you!!!! We’ve all been there. You may have had a moment of weakness but bro, you’re definitely not weak! And no matter where you are at on this journey continue to lean on this community. I’m glad that tough love from everyone helped you make the right decision.

  7. Proud of you buddy. You’re STRONG! :-)

  8. Well done Steve! It took a ton of guts to post you had purchased them, I’m sure you knew that people would react somewhat negatively :P But you posted it and you then heeded the advice given and walked away, well done!

Short cuts rarely pan out in weight loss and I think you will be happy you chose not to take this one.

  10. I’ve been tempted a time or two to try some alli but have never actually done it. My wife has talked me out of it a couple times. Ultimately, it’s not worth it. Weight lost from gimmicks always comes back. Keep up the good work.

  12. So glad you decided not to take them! I had tried them about 2 years ago when I first started this journey and they may have helped me lose a whopping 1 lb. And I say may have because with 1 lb, well you just don’t really know for sure! LOL You know what really works and how to do it. You just need to get your total focus back.

  14. Hey Steve,

Fitarella directed me to your site because I am in some serious need of inspiration! Loved that post and I feel the same way right now. I NEED A QUICK FIX Thanks for reminding me that these moments are real and can be overcome. ! What a junkie I sound like. Don’t take those diet pills-flush them! I’ll stay away from the carrot cake.

    Be well!

    Jeff
