I may be getting back on track, but I still have a mad case of blogging writers block…

With that said, I present to you, FILLER PICTURES!

The official pictures from the Maryland Half Marathon.  Honestly, I don’t really like any of them, but I also have major issues with my appearance and suffer from excruciatinly low self esteem, so theres that.

Still though, you saw me shirtless, so this isn’t much worse :-P   I was thinking about actually ordering one of them (almost $13 for a 5×7, what the hell?!), and maybe framing it with my medal and race number, but I’m not sure.  Anyone have any ideas?

Post race, with my mylar blanket, medal, water bottle, and an awesomely delicious cinnamon crunch bagel (which I hid under the blanket) :-P

Look happy, eh?

I like this one the best, honestly.  And I was going back and forth on the route with that kid for awhile.  He finished in 2:48, which is pretty awesome.

Focused, or something…

I look tired…and old.  Gross.

And…that’s it.  There are a couple photos on my roommates camera that I haven’t seen yet, but this is the jist of it.   I plan to be leaner (and maybe learn how to smile more :P ) once the full marathon comes around.

Have a great day, ya’ll! :)

  1. I like how this provides PROOF that you actually ran the race. ;)

    Good job!

  2. I <3 these pictures. You do not look tired, old or gross in any of these pictures. You absolutely do not. What do you look like in these pictures? Steve is strong. Steve has endurance. Steve has determination. Amazing!

I laughed out loud when I read that you hid the bagel under the blanket. I would have done that, too! Oh and I would absolutely buy one of the pictures – the second one shown is my favorite~! Frame it, add your medal and race number. It will be a good motivator if needed in the future! :-)

    • Yes. Steve. Do not hate on yourself.

Please? With a cherry on top? You are Awesome. Sauced. Saucy even. They make wallpaper out of pictures now. I think you should paper your walk in closet and have a full length mirror in there too. I also like Jack Sh*t’s idea. These are definitive proof. Don’t bother. :D

  3. The cost of “official” race pictures is a crime. I have never bought one. The metal and occasional certificate are good enough for me. Save the money and put it in a Garmin fund. :)

  4. I actually like the last one best. You look determined to finish in that one. It seems out of focus though so I’d save my money for the next race. There will always be a next one. I actually buy some of mine if they turn out well and they offer a digital download for a reasonable price.

  6. I think these pictures are GREAT!!!! I would definitely frame them with the medal, that would be so cool. My favorite is the 2nd one and I also like the last one. As for the self esteem… I get it (I’m the same way) but you look great in the pics. It’s hard to see ourselves how others see us. I know the pictures are expensive but I would splurge some if I were you!

  11. I teared up looking at your pictures. So proud of you for running 13.1 miles. You did such a great job.

And I know for a fact I won’t be smiling in any of the pictures taken of me during my Half. It’s too intense for smiles.

You did great buddy. High five.

You should definitely order a photo and frame it. Maybe empty out a shelf to start your medal collection :)
