Glad to have ya man!

Don't beat yourself up too much on not doing the pushups, sit ups, squats challenge.

They sound great on paper, but in real life application they're not the best. Really, once you can do more of 20 than something, trying to do 50 of them is either a waste of time or you're just asking for pain.

Once you can do 20, add weight or up the difficulty, and save yourself some time!

Steve,
Have to hand it to you on keeping that close tabs on your miles.
That's a good weekend in my book. Swing by and see if I can help you with your running goals.

Well done, you did really well at the weekend. You must feel so empowered after it! I love how you've already put up a new set of goals. Remember, if you're finding it hard to keep going during a workout or a run, just visualize yourself reaching to the end. Focus on that vision and you will get there!

I think that you'll find that not getting to 20 miles was fine ... and you'll feel better this week going for it again. And you're right, you do need to step up the running now to prepare for the marathon. Build a good base now, then kick off "official" training soon. You have to make sure your body can handle a few consecutive 20-mile weeks first.
