Progress Report: Week 23
Weight:  235.6 lbs
BMI: 34.3
Weight loss so far:  5.8 lbs gained since two weeks ago,  29.4 lbs lost total

Oh Steve, Steve, Steve…what the hell are you doing, man?

First weigh in since the site came back up, and there isn’t much that needs to be said about it, I’ve been eating like total shit for the past two weeks and I haven’t been working out as much as I need to be.

Honestly, I don’t know what has been going on with me, but I have been in a huge funk when it comes to diet and exercise.  I tell myself that I am going to eat well one day, then later on that day I’m eating whatever I want.  I’ve been allowing any little excuse to keep me out of the gym, and when I do go I have no motivation to give 100%.  My challenges have come to a standstill, and I didn’t even do my last Perfect 10 update. Boo!  I’ve also been avoiding my blog, and as an extension have slipped in following everyone elses progress too, which I feel really bad about :(

What’s the deal?  I haven’t had any major life changes (except a new kitty, but that’s a good thing!).  School stuff hasn’t changed. I’ve been a little busier with work, but not enough to cause any major meltdowns. Life really hasn’t changed much, I don’t feel all that depressed about anything, so I don’t know…

Regardless, I need to get back on track, and I could use a nice swift asskicking I think.  Luckily I’ll be meeting a bunch of other bloggers this weekend at Fitbloggin’, so hopefully that will help provide some motivation (and maybe even the asskicking).

Ah well…this week I am going to start calorie counting again, and reinstate the Blacklist.  Those words kind of ring hollow as I type them, which is a bit scary, but I am going to try, DAMMIT!

I’m also going to set some workout goals for the week:

  • Run 15 miles
  • Walk 15 miles
  • Spend 4 hours on the ARC Trainer
  • Restart 100pushups/200squats/200situps (again…)
  • Do at least 2 days of strength training otherwise…
  • Climb 200 floors on the stairstepper

Some of that might seem a little ambitious, but I have taken off work Friday and Monday to have a mini break and for Fitbloggin, so I definitely have the time.  Next week will be 6 months since I’ve started this journey, and it’d be nice to have a somewhat impressive number to go with it.

Have a good day, everyone!

  1. Sorry to hear that you are out of your groove. It looks like you have a pretty solid plan to get yourself back on track. I bet that weight will be off pretty soon…:-) I will be cheering you on over at dailymile. I want to see the scale start moving more too. We can do this Steve!

  2. Get your ass in gear Steve, I’m catching you!

  3. Maybe you’re just bored. Maybe it’s cause life hasn’t changed much (besides having an awesome live lolcat). I don’t know. I fall off track and sabotage myself when I get bored. And I get bored pretty easily. I don’t know, maybe try new foods or a new work out routine. Seth at 1010 is having a great home challenge you can do and I’m doing a squats challenge (which could help your 200 squats thing). AND, you need to keep in mind the big picture. You’ve lost almost 30 pounds. That’s a 4 year old. That’s CRAZY, in an amazing way.

So chin up :) You should fill out my life tournament bracket and reward yourself for each milestone you accomplish. I realized yesterday that I never reward myself, which is another reason why I get burned out. I just get tired and bored and say to hell with it. No more of that, for you or for me!

  4. While you fell, you didn’t fall far. The fact that you openly admit how bad the past few weeks have been is a step in the right direction. Do you what you say you’ll do this week and it’ll be like the past two weeks didn’t even happen!

  5. Hang in there, make some good choices – we’re all here FOR you. We’re NOT against you, so don’t neglect us! Oh Steve – what are you doing? Where have you been?

I get what you’re going through, though. I’m having a bit of a rough patch myself. My nutrition has been pretty shitty and I haven’t been working out as much as I’d like. It sucks, but only I can change it. And the same goes for you, buddy. You have to make the choice, no matter how hard my foot connects with your ass (and I have fantastic lower body strength). :-D

Now, no more of this! Let’s GO!

  6. It happens to us all. I’m in a bit of a funk myself even though I’m still losing my eating is all over the place. The trick is to just persevere I guess.

  7. I’ll pack my paddle. You know, for the asskicking.

I’m thinking it’s safe to assume that Fitbloggin will be a great shot to the mojo, too.

  8. Gotta be the kitty. Tee hee, kidding.
OK, swift kick in the ass…comin up…*kick* Gotta be a virtual kick since I’m not going to fitbloggin…booooo.
Seriously, I think fitbloggin will give you a boost. We all get in funks, hope you can shake yourself out of yours and go back to your rockstar, butt kicking awesomeness.
PS I have to restart my situp, pushup challenges too. Totally blew off the last two weeks workouts, shh, don’t tell.

  9. Don’t worry – it happens to us all. Like Jess mentioned, I ended up bored our of my gourd, particularly with my cardio workouts, a few weeks back. I had to shake things up to get back on track, as the treadmill just wasn’t going to happen anymore at that point. Good luck!

  10. You won’t know what hit you. But this weekend at FitBloggin’ someone is going to kick your butt. I’m very very good at kicking people in the butt as I walk beside them.

Bwahahaha. And I’m anonymous too. I’m going to blend into the crowd and melt away….

  11. I’m glad you have Fitbloggin coming up. I’m sure that will help. It’s easy to fall into a funk, especially being that we’re in the 3rd month of a new year. I’ve been there, boy do I know. It’s tough to stay focused. That being said GET YOUR BUTT IN GEAR AND DO THIS!!!! You can do it! I wish you well.

  12. The toughest part of weight loss is it is all in your head. People don’t realize this they think man if I just improved my nutrition or exercise more or whatever they are going to get back on track. But really we need to figure out how to change our head. This is probably the biggest obstacles all my clients have. How to stay motivated over the long haul. Consistency.

  13. You look like you’ve had your act together on DailyMile. You’ll get it back – I’m sure you’ll be inspired at the conference. You can do it!

  14. Hey man, I know exactly how you feel. I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately myself. Mostly been eating well, but definitely not much in the mood to exercise lately. I think we all go through these periods. You just have to remind yourself why you’re doing this, and give yourself a swift kick in the pants and get back on that horse!

Have a fun time at Fitbloggin’, I’m wayyyy jealous of all you who are going!

  18. I think it’s normal to have these periods where things just don’t go as well as you’d hoped they did. It’s okay. Now it’s time to get back on the wagon and workout your frustrations in the gym! You’ll feel so much better. :D

  20. You need to do what I do and write down everything you eat whether it’s bad or good for you. And then try to stay at a certain calorie level for a day.. for example stay under 1800 calories in a day or whatever you’re aiming for.

Keep that notepad or whatever you use with you 24/7 and you won’t mess up. I keep mine near my fridge so whenever I grab something to eat.. I just jot down the calories and continue with my day.

Do it.. and it makes thinking about your diet less stressful and easier to do.

And you might want to get a workout buddy or trainer to kick your ass in to gear. You sound like you’re getting bored in the gym… you may want to fix that asap by trying something new.

    Good luck!

  21. I think your goals combined with Fitbloggin starting today will get you back on track. I know I’ve had a rough week with the baby arriving and all, everyone has them. What’s important is how we react to them. Do we continue the bad weeks/days or do we stay motivated and get back to it. Hit your goals and get motivated again this weekend and I have no doubt you’ll be posting a different story next week.
