Round three of my Challenges Updates! How are you all doing with your goals in the new year?
NEW YEAR CHALLENGES
New Year 100 Mile Running Challenge
-I am in 4th place with 59.34 miles. As of this writing I am neck and neck with Karyn, who has logged 59.95 miles. Kickass, right? We have a little less than a week and half left, and I’m still confident that I can finish this thing, and hopefully soon. Weather permitting, I want to log some long walk/runs this weekend, so we’ll see
New Year 500 Mile Biking Challenge
-God, I am sucking at this challenge. I am totally ready and willing to admit that I tried to take on too much at one time. I have only logged 79.47 miles, but I want to at least get 100 miles in before the challenge ends. Totally need to give a shout out to Alex though, 341.02 miles? SCHAWEET!
PERFECT 10 CHALLENGE

And here is my Perfect 10 update for the week:
Steve is also asking we post something that noone knows about us, so here goes: This isn’t my first attempt at blogging, but has been the most successful by far. Back in the day I jumped on the bandwagon with a bunch of friends and had my own blogger and livejournal blogs. I found them not too long ago, and I couldn’t believe they were even still online. Reading them, I realized I was a very whiny 20-21 year old, but I also realized that I had some pretty big ambitions back then. If I stayed on the same track I was on when I wrote those blogs, I would probably be finishing law school right now. Where am I now? Struggling to get my bachelors degree. UGH! Luckily I still have time to turn all of this around, and 4-5 years from now I plan to be in a MUCH better place
HABIT.A.WEEK CHALLENGE
Lyn from Escape from Obesity is hosting a Habit.A.Week Challenge. The goal is easy enough, to make a small change each work in order to live a healthier lifestyle. The “habit” for this week was to eat more vegetables…
…and I’m proud to say that I have been ROCKING THIS! Most of my snacks this week have consisted of apples and oranges, I’ve had salads for lunch, and I’m made sure I had at least one vegetable side for dinner. WooT! Unfortunately, there is still plenty of processed food in my diet though, so I have some work to do, as usual…
And…that’s it!
TGIF and have a great weekend!
Sounds like you’re right on track! Good job!
Have you gotten to the world on Mario yet where the bombs are flying off the sides of the wall constantly? Its in a castle on the middle of a level. It made me cry a lil.
…Why do you tell me crap like that?! Dammit Craig!
I haven’t gotten their yet, thankfully. I’m stuck dealing with huge catepillars and pink death goo. Ugh.
OOOH I LOVE THAT LEVEL!!! The huge caterpillars are so cute. Pink goo, not so much.
One more ?: Have you gotten to the level with the raft and all the villains are falling from the sky…and if you get too many on your raft w/o killing them it stops? It was frustrating, but a “fun frustrating”, lol.
Yeah…I’ve experienced that level.
Note I didn’t say I completed it…ugh
On Level 9 I have 3 parts that are just impossible. I SUCK at them…I dunno if I’ll be able to finish my NYR about Mario.
Man, I can’t wait to play Super Mario on Wii again! I may have to break down and buy it. I’m still playing StarTropics on the Virtual Console and continually crying about the poor controls.
And good job on the healthy eating.
It can be really tough cutting out processed foods when you have to eat at work.
Ohh..never played StarTropics, is it any good? The only virtual console games I have are the NES Mario games and Donkey Kong.
It is very hard, but luckily the cafeteria at work has a salad bar, so I load up. Trying to stay away from the vending machine as much as possible
Well, the controls on StarTropics suck, honestly, but it had the BEST storyline of any game I have ever played, to date. Absolutely loved that game.
I’m in charge of stocking our vending machine at work, but it’s for an after school program, so the snacks are all kid friendly. I may be adding some beef jerky next week.
For starters, congrats on a great week! Can’t wait to hear the details on that bear run 4 miler.
Your ‘secret’ this week reminded me of some past blogs I’ve had. Not only have I attempted to blog before, but I’ve had two prior weight loss blogs. Failed miserably both times (at blogging AND at losing the weight, obviously).
I made it to level 6 last night on SMB! That stupid raft level killed me though. You know what got me through it? I had my husband play with me. So I had an extra set of hands to constantly shoot at everything falling and coming at me. I don’t think I ever could have passed that level without him.
That might be one level where multiplayer would be AWESOME, cuz usually it just brings about alot more death. I’ll have to get my roommate to assist.
You’re going great! Keep it up.
Thanks Andrew, I hope I can keep it up!
Great work on your run/jog/walk goal, that’s some amazing progress so far!
Thanks Brandon, and congrats on another awesome weight loss week for you! You have some amazing progress going on as well.
Nice progress this week, Steve! Love your habit of the week!!! Veggies rock!
Agreed, and its even more awesome since I like veggies more than most fruits
Awesome job on your goals! The extra veggies must be the trick!
I also like veggies more than fruits. I better kick it up a notch if I want to get all the miles in before the end of the month.
I used to have a blogger blog too that was a flop. I am not doing much better with this one. LOL.
I am stuck on world 3 level 1. Lame player! I always have my daughter playing with me though and I totally believe that’s why I am so stuck.
Aw…I love your blog
And I’m sure you’ll get all of your miles in.
You just need to kill your daughter early on (that sounds so bad!), and don’t pop the bubble until you are finished the level
Awesome how you’re all about the goals! Like a dude I know likes to say: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”
That’s a great line, David. I might have to borrow that from your friend
Great week Steve!
Thanks! You had a pretty awesome week yourself.
Congrats on a great week…you’ve got great goals and are doing so good!
Thanks Angie, and thanks for stopping by!
Very very nice Mr. Steve!
Why thank you
I’ve been seeing your face and reading your postings on so many of the blogs that I visit. Thought I’d stop by. I’m glad I did. Looks like you are really chasing after your P10 goals. You have logged a lot of miles Great job.
Aw, thats awesome! Thanks for stopping by
