I am very tired, but I wanted to take a few minutes (from working, YAY!) and write something.
I’d love to write something substantial, inspiring, and funny…but yeah, I don’t see that happening today.
So you get 5 random facts about me. Since I will be your host for the duration of this journey, I thought it might be nice if you got to know a bit more, plus it makes for nice blog filler (kidding…kinda)
Enjoy.
1) I come from a HUGE family. I am the oldest of nine children. There are seven boys, and two girls. Technically speaking my youngest brother and my two sisters are half siblings (my moms kids), but I don’t differentiate, and I don’t love them any less.
I’m the one with the shell necklace on. I believe this was 2007, it wasn’t one of my thinnest periods, but thinner than I am now. As you can see, alot of my siblings are overweight, so its not just me. Over the past couple years my father has lost about 100 pounds, and a couple of my brothers have lost some weight as well. There is alot of work to be done all around though, and in many ways I hope my weight loss struggle can help inspire some of them.
2. I have my Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, and I am currently pursuing my Bachelors Degree in Business Management. What do I plan to do with that? I have no idea. I currently work for a health insurance company, and its a good job with a good company, but I really want something more out of life. I have been contemplating law school down the line, and maybe getting my Masters of Public Administration. I would love to work with government, but I’m not sure that I am “politically minded” enough for it. Basically, I am clueless…hehehehehe.
3. I like to build things, but going back to number two, I don’t see that as a career goal. When I was a kid I loved Legos, and sometimes even built buildings out of VHS tapes. I love SimCity for this reason, and sometimes, when I’m bored at work, I will take to construction as well.
That little fella’ right there was constructed one night at work (old job). It was the overnight shift, there was nothing to do, I was a bit loopy from being exhausted, so I took all of the printer paper and label boxes and made that. It was supposed to be a building, but everyone said it looked like a robot, so whatever.
4. I have alot of wierd quirks…and by alot…I mean ALOT. I think one of the wierdest ones though is that I chew plastic. Straws, soda bottle caps, plastic coffee stirrers, I chew them all, pretty much until they start to shred apart, then I get a new thing to chew on. It could be worse I guess, I could be into chewing tabacco (which I believe is disgusting, btw). I don’t like chewing gum, either.
5. I am obsessed with Natalie Portman. She is perfection personified.

I love you. Call me.
Yeah, I’m pretty lame. I’ll own that
But now you know a little more, and knowing is half the battle.
Weekend is going to be pretty bland, I’m afraid. Was supposed to take a bus trip to NYC but my friends backpain has put a damper on that. So I’ll be working some overtime, studying, and working out (WooT!). I may try another outside running excursion too. We’ll see how that goes.
It’s Friday, ya’ll! Enjoy yourselves, and have an awesome weekend.

LOL that paper robot is awesome!!!
Building vs. Robot…I go for building. You could have spanned out the bottom areas a bit more and it would be Eiffel-Tower-esque! Oh, and you don’t chew gum? The horror!! I love me some gum, but I can see how your plastic-chewing ways can mimick the satisfaction I get from that minty goodness!
Have a good weekend, even if you’re not going to NYC!
I so wish I was able to get a run in outside. It is awfully hard when it is -31 degrees celcius out and a sheet of ice everywhere! I’ll have to suck it up and show my face at the gym again.
I played legos for HOURS on end whenever I went to visit my grandma. My mom wouldn’t buy us lego, but grandma had tons.
Hope you have a good weekend.
Funny, Steve! I love the building. It totally reminds me of a robot, but it could be a combination of the two, right?
And yeah, Natalie Portman? Very nice.
I’m just reading through your blog now, and I’ve got to say that you have some good things to say!
@ Petchy – WooT paper robot/building! hehe
@ Erin – Thanks for stopping by! I’ll have to remember that for next time, hehe…althought I don’t think my current employer would let me get away with rebuilding the tower in the office…d’oh!
@ Karyn – EWWWWWWW…yeah…I wouldn’t want to try to run in that crap either. The cold I would maybe attempt to tolerate (for about 5 minutes), but ice? HELL NO! And legos rock, I might be asking for some for Christmas (cuz im a dork like that)
@ beej – Welcome, welcome! And it COULD totally be both, like a Transformer, or something outta Power Rangers, WooT!
Awesome weekends all around, WooT!
OMG you don’t even like the “Biggest Loser” gum? ha ha ha
LOVE the paper building…how long did that take?
Have a good weekend.
Your family is adorable!
You are very lucky to come from such a big family – lots of people to love and support you! I love posts like this, it’s fun to see a different side of people other than weight loss / exercising. P.S. Garden State is one of my all time favorite movies. I loved Natalie Portman’s character, so cute. Have a great Monday!!
